it's been a very long time since I was last able to come on the site.

Someone I know is organising a model show :

omaha beach model contest 2007

This is going to be a first : a model show right near to Omaha beach, in Normandy France, right during the june comemorations.

The show will go on for 3 days : 1st, 2nd and 3rd of June
the place : Vierville-sur-Mer, in Normandy France

At the show you'll see models...
Outside, in the streats and on the beach, you'll see plenty of real vehicles...

Normandy is going to be the place to be !

Wow Anthony, sounds very interesting. Please keep us posted! My Dad spent some time in Vierville-sur-Mer in 1944.

Omaha Beach Model Contest 2007 is now finished.

The weather was sunny and the mood happy! People taking part to the show were very happy.

A few commercial stands were present: DES, MK35, PN Sud Modelisme. They are all passionate "artisans" that you can easily and happily spend a few hours chatting with.
PN Sud impressed everyone with his dioramas, especially one showing the area today. That diorama was offered to the city council at the end of the show.

Many models were presented at the show. Not only quantity but also quality was there.

The organiser also tried to give the models the place of honnor: they were shown at eye level, with some good lighting.

The only drawback is that the place was too small! There just wasn't enough room to fit everything. Sadly, a few clubs couldn't show all they had come with.
The organiser is now looking for a bigger place for next year.

A real Kettenrad held the role of the guest star.
