What do these tactical symbols on Canadian Fireflies mean?

I'll take a wild guess and say probably squadron markings.

The Diamond indicated HQ squadron
Triangle was A Squadron
Square was B squadron
Circle was C squadron

I almost forgot...The colour of the symbols also meant something.
Red was the senior regiment within the division.
Yellow the second regiment.
Blue the junior regiment.
For a independent regiment white was used.
