After filling gaps or if you need to fill in small scratches pull out those old thick Testors enamel paints. I dab it on the offending area, let it cure some or dry & then use 99% iso alchohol on a Q-Tip to smooth it out. You will use a lot of swabs but it will come out very smooth with light if any sanding needed. I try to use a color close to the plastic color to keep it uniform for later painting. give it a go and see for your self.

Cheers.

Thanks for the tip. Just out of curiosity, where do you buy 99% iso alcohol? I've only seen 70% and 91% (which is what I use) at the pharmacy.

Wouldn't 99% be called Moonshine? :-) I can only find the 70% here in our stores, maybe the medical supply places may have it?
Great tip, I'll give it a go...

you should be able to find the 99% stuff in most paint stores. I get mine from work. The 91% stuff should work just as well though, and that can be found in most drug stores.
