Yo Tim, I'm a Friendly Illinois Boy too! (Yeah Bears!)

Welcome to Armorama, first off. Cars are cool, I've got a collection of 1/25 GTO's that is growing rapidly. That's Modelgeek Territory along with Trains, Sci-fi etc.
I haven't done too many planes but, I do have some 1/144 Modern stuff in the display case. Look around Aeroscale for some crazy builds!
You'd probably dig the Armor kits if you're ready to step up a bit. Armorama has some awesome examples and some great people who love to share technique, something a lot of us didn't have growing up before the internet, so we are eager to give it away here to kids like you who want to learn.
Figure modelers hang out at Historicus Forma.
Ship builders dock at Model Shipwrights.

Ya get some gallery space as well, so upload a couple of pictures of your Blackbird or your cars and show em off. We're only critical if you ask us to be.

Look around, have fun, speak up!

Welcome to the Big-A!

Cuhail

Gday Tim
As you can see I'm not from Illinois, but I'm still a good person and I second everything that Murph has mentioned!
Welcome on board, and show us some of your work!

Howdy Tim

I see our good Cuhail has done his usual dandy job of reaching out and making people feel welcome, along with HONEYCUT and Grumpy.

I too add my voice of "Welcome!" to the increasing chorus. Stay a while and enjoy the site.....

Treadf.

Oh, BTW.....I'm from Colorado and even I was dissappointed that the Bears lost

Hey Tim,
Welcome to the gang.
I started building model kits when I was just a wee bit younger than you,
Cars, boats, submarines, jets and World War II prop planes were amongst my favorites.
I even built the old Star Trek, Lost in Space and Batman kits when they first came out in the 1960's.
WW II armour and figures is my area of interest now and the guys that post on Armorama are a wealth of info and tips on building AFV's and figures.
We'll be looking forward to see some of your builds.

Hi Tim,

Welcome aboard. I'm fairly new around here myself, but it seems like a good place to hang out, and everyone seems friendly and helpful.

Always good to see someone of your age enjoying the hobby. Stick with it and persevere, don't get discouraged if things don't always work out as you'd planned (it happens to us all at some point) and above all - have fun!
