Matt,

Looking forward to this.....an additional excuse to make something I can really use, and see some other niffty "devices."

I'm personally liking your second and third ribbon design...the coloring being different from most of what is seen.

My project will be a little device (kind of no-nonsense) that will allow me to quickly and (I'm hoping) accurately make multiples of the same size vehicle grab handles. The design should allow one to be able to slide wire through holes in the template, pull it taught (creating tight right angles), rough trim the length from the underside, and then finish trim with a "gauge" scribed on the tool's top or bottom.

I'll probably do the prototype (neat word huh?) out of plexiglass and perhaps the final out of aluminum or cold rolled steel (for longevity). And guessing I will have between 15 to 20 "sizes" that can be made; allowing most, if not all, common 1/35 sized handles to be made (I'll use measurements from my various kits [Artillery, tanks, wheeled-vehicles] to hopefully cover the basics).

I'm thinking I might finally force myself to get to a couple of Accy's for my Sherline Mill that I keep putting off.............

An Adjustible Vice (that clamps directly to the table)
I've already done a Wood turning attachement (but I do need a longer rest that I'll have to get welded at work)

I've got a few more ideas....... We'll see how much time i have to get them all done!!

Title the Progrss threads like this

I have an idea for a tool for the campaign. Tell me you dont find it annoying to cut spent shell casings out of stretched sprue AND make them all the same size! I know I find it frustrating and difficult. So my tool will allow you to cut exact scaled down .50 cal and 7.62 cal shell casings, and collect the little casings in a tray so they dont fly all over the place. I will build this one when I come back from vacation in the upcoming weeks.

Hi all!

I'm in. I don't know what I'm gonna build yet, but, I'll whip up something handy-dandy.

Matt,

This campaign sounds cool. However I can't find the guide lines for this campaign. So I am guessing that maybe I am not looking in the right place? I would like to take part and build a couple of things.

Please point me in the right direction.

Thanks, HARV

Never mind........... I just found what I was looking for. After I placed this post I went to ModelGeek and found what I needed. I enlisted in the campaign and I am looking forward to taking part in it.

Other than recycling the clothes pins, I am thinking maybe a 90 deg attachment for my drill. and maybe a jig for tapering masts and spares. From square stock its not so bad, but to get a nice tapper on a chunk of dowel is hit and miss. For me anyway.

I like the ribbons Matt.

As a side note- when going down to my work space on one of my ships, our -"totally unauthorized" strikers badge was a wrench and a condom, painted on the bulkhead.

For what it is worth I just thought I would say that I like this ribbon design.

I like the way the colors match the tools.

Just my two cents worth.

Gary,

Did you ever get around to making that tool for shell casings? I would like to make some for a diorama I'm working on and any ideas would be great.

Thanks,
Lou

Sorry for the double post...
