Yo,
Checking in from the bustling metropolis of Lower Burrell, about 15 miles NW of Pittsburgh. Getting my wallet ready for the show at the end of the month.

Greetings all,

Nice turnout so far in this thread. I'm from the Imperial area, about 20 miles west of Pittsburgh near the airport.

Jeff - I've heard of Worthington. My old boss was from there. His dad owned a trucking company at one time in that neck of the woods.

Hi guys,
I posted this in the Region IV thread too but wanted to make sure I had all bases covered.
There's something I've helped organize the last few years when I've gone to the 2 big figure shows I attend and I thought we might try the same thing at the regional.
What say we try to get together for a group photo for the web site?
If everyone is going to be at the show on Saturdy, we can do it then.
And if you're only going to be there on Friday, look me up and we can get a mini group picture
Anyone interested?

Now how did I miss this.
Anyway I’m out here in Somerset county at the crossing of 30 and 219.

Looks like were getting some more members from the state. I wonder if that means we’ll get more modeling shops out here.

Munhall, PA here. Literally 1/4 mile south of Pittsburgh. Craig and I are in the same IPMS chapter. He was one of the first to welcome me back to the club after moving back to PA.

Hey there, guys,

Overbrook, PA here (inside Pittsburgh city limits).

I'm also a member of 3 Rivers IPMS along with John and Craig. Going nuts now trying to finish up my latest diorama for the IPMS Region IV show next Friday/Saturday. Typing now with hands layered in drying Durham's Water Putty, but had to chime in. Hope to see you all at the show.

Hey Matt, how far from Bradford are you? I used to live in Bradford about 15+ years ago. Worked as an acrylic artist at Breier Patch Manufacturing (if they're still there). My father had been the minister at Hope United Methodist Church on Main Street. Beautiful country up there!

Hi Ben! And welcome aboard. The folks here are really a great bunch. And very helpful, too.

Sorry about the mix-up. That's what I get for rushing through the posts. Sometimes I get too focused on one thought to the exclusion of all others. (Would you believe they still let have a driver's license!)

Thanks for the heads up, Craig.

Hi All!
Can anyone tell me what time the Three Rivers IPMS show closes on Saturday? I put in for vacation for Saturday and Sunday...not realizing the show was Friday and Saturday. At least I can make it part of the day on Saturday. Oh well...I'm going to try to make it down before the show is over!

Craig...I would be interested in getting in on the picture for the site.
Any news on sending kits to the troops. I have some new kits I can bring with me if you guys are going to send some items to Iraq or Afghanistan.

Hope to see some of you Pittsburgh area guys at the show!

Frank-Do you remember what the name of the trucking company was?

Hi Mr. Mox,
I graduated high school about 10 miles from Harrisburg. All of the really good model shops have closed down. I was out there about 3 years ago and the only real (not RC) hobby shop I found in Harrisburg was the Hobbytown USA.
Lancaster and Mechanicsburg have hobby shops, I'm not sure how welll stocked they are.
This site should help you find shops in the area.

Good luck!

Jeff - I'm a bit fuzzy on the actual name, but if I recall correctly, it started out as Jacques Trucking, then was sold to Bowser & Tarr?

Not sure if that spelling is correct or not, but I think that was the name of the company.
