I have a question about the Squadron/Signal armor "in action" series of books. Did the first few issues in the series have the color art work "centerfold" or is that something that was added in the later issues. I was just curious.
Thanks, HARV

I'll take a look when I get home. I have all but two or three of the first 10 issues. I seem to recall they did have the center folds, but were not like they are today.

I hate jump in here, but the subject drew me in. I got the Academy M3 Lee and the Squadron book along with it. Now I haven't started the kit, but I've read the book. Good grief the thing is full of typos. Do those guys employ a proofreader? Anyway, that's off my chest. Back to your regularly scheduled thread.

No centerfolds in issues 1, 2 and 3 but the back page of each issue has a 2 vehicle profile color drawing on the back cover similar to what the later centerfolds look like.
The next issue I have is #7. It has a centerfold with multiple color drawings, but is not like the modern issue centerfolds. Issue 10 is the one where the centerfold starts to standardize into something along the lines of the later issues.

A little but Squadron, following their amalgamation with VLS, are going to be spending a considerable amount of time updating the 'In-Action' series...

Thanks guys.
Jim, does that mean that they will be re-issuing the old issues or just improving on the up and coming ones?
Thanks again.

One can't help but wonder if they'll get around to producing the third part of the old Squadron 'Ground war - Vietnam' series.
We've had Volume One, covering 1945 thru 1965, and Volume Two, covering 1965 thru 1968...
The author promises a third part, which - going out on a limb here - I'd guess would cover from 1968 thru 1975.
It's been some fifteen years since the first two volumes and no sign of the third...
Anyone care to speculate why we haven't seen the third volume..?
