I'm trying to help a friend who is restoring a 1952 Willys M38 Marine Jeep. He wants to mark the vehicle as it would have been while being used by a Marine unit in Korea during the war but he has been unable to fins any information on how the Marines would have marked their jeeps. Can anyone point us to where we can find this?

Thanks Mark. Are there any books or sites that you know of that would explain how the Marine units marked there vehicles at the time?
He told me the only info he was able to find was on Army vehicles. I'm sure the pictures will help but I think he would like to make it as accurate as possible and avoid putting just some made up numbers on it.

About 99% of what is out there is just Army. I'll do some more checking.

Just to update everyone, a Jarhead buddy :-) suggested that I contact the Marine Museum in Qauntico ( so did an Armorama member in a PM) and I did so. I was contacted by Beth Crumley who was extremely cordial and provided me with a copy of the 1949 Marine Corps manual covering the painting & markings of Marine vehicles. Can't sing her and the Marine Corps Museum enough praise HOORAH!
