Jan-- you provided some interesting works on the PBYs. I always wanted to make the B-24 version PBY in 1/48. Have you done one?
DJ

Hi there DJ. Do you mean the USN B-24 Liberator (PB4Y-1)? If you do I haven't done that one, yet. :-)

Jan-- yes that is the model I am referring to. I have always wished that they would come out with a 1/48 scale of this unique modification to the B-24. One can only hope.
thanks

Among the well-thumbed books on my shelf are:

Caen -Anvil of victory by Alexander McKee. Plenty of first-hand testimony and he later went on to rediscover the Mary Rose using the easy method of finding a 19th century Royal Navy map...

If you survive by George Wilson. Normandy to the Bulge with US 4th Infantry Division.

Tank by Ken Tout. Ringside view of Wittmann's last battle. And the author is from Hereford which is where my mother is too

Mailed Fist by John Foley. Churchill tanks from Normandy to the Reichswald (some of the same actions also appear in Douglas Sutherland's Sutherland's War as both were in A Squadron 107 RAC, but neither author mentions the other).

The Boilerplate War by John Foley (again). Some mistakes, but great stuff on Great War tanks.

David

Jan-- Alas, I just paid my yearly taxes and I am flat broke. We hardly have enough money for food and shelter.
DJ
PS-- On second thought, we can lose some weight. I just ordered the conversion kit with the milk money. He did a beautiful job on the model.
thanks

I trust that was not the book purported to be by amember of the 4th Armored Division. If so, I still have the book and will gladly trade it to you.

Flags is great as his follow-up book Flyboys. The other book you cite has an alluring title, what period of history does it reflect...WW II, Korea, Vietnam or the Gulf?
thanks
