Can anybody help?
I placed an order with Cromwell models quite some time ago via email and as they dont have a secure web site I telephoned my card details through and left them on their answer machine, asking if they could confirm the order. Having not heard from them I have emailed and telephoned a good few times and have not had an answer. Are they still trading?

Russ,
Try posting your question on Missing Lynx; the owner of Cromwell Models usually checks forums there and responds to such queries... and I've seen lots of similar queries on Cromwell Models.
Cheers,
Mario

Mr Gordon Brown seems to have a bad habit of not
responding until considerable pressure is applied.
I have a long history of suffering from this:
ordered two kits May 2005, credit card charged for two
kits a week later, one ( 1 ) kit delivered in August 2005,
kept trying to get an answer until going public here in
December, got a reply fairly fast, agreed that the paid but
undelivered kit, Churchill Bobbin carrier, would be delivered
without the carpet since finding the material was a problem
and since I didn't necessarily want the carpet I could do
without, I was also interested in the Churchill ARV and
Gordon offered me a price reduction since I was taking the
Bobbin carrier "incomplete", ordered the ARV e-mailed and
faxed updated card details, credit card was charged on the
16th of January but the ARV and Bobbin carrier haven't
arrived yet.
If your card hasn't been charged yet then just wait a couple
of weeks and see what happens. I spent one week trying to
get through on the fax, sending an ordinary paper mail might
be the best way to ensure that it gets there......
Gordon seems to be a nice enough fellow but I wish he would
improve somewhat on the "communications side".

Hi Guys,
Same story here I'm afraid. I emailed Gordon on the 28th about some figures I was interested in getting and checking on their availability, but no response yet.
I'll await a response before placing an order, or I might just get some others.
Pity.
Cheers

I placed an order in December 06 - card charged in January - only arrived here a week ago. Four emails went unanswered - the last pleading for some contact so at least I could get an idea when the stuff may be despatched.
He did have a sale over the Christmas period so maybe volume got on top - but a simple email reply would go a long way.
I really want to buy more from him but am unsure if I will given the complete lack of contact.

Hi Richard,
There was a thread on the new Military Modelling site a few dayus ago, on the same issue. Gordon responded quite quickly so that might be a good point of contact.
He said he had email me but I hadn't received it but I've gone ahead and ordered the figures I wanted anyway.
Don't know what the delay was. I've dealt with Gordon in the past and he's a nice bloke. Best I can offer is to email him and check on availability, then take it from there.
Cromwell have been around for some time, have highly thought of kits so not with-standing delays I have no problem trading with them.
Cheers

He also visits Missing Lynx regularly. However, speaking personally, I really wouldn't want to use a website as a means of contacting a manufacturer - I'm afraid, it doesn't give a terribly positive image...
