Hey folks, I would like to thank Slodder and the big boss himself for appointing me to the position of host/moderator of this forum. I would like to do anything possible to help kick some life into it. I am open to any and all ideas and would love to hear them.
About me,
I am early forty something years old. I was a lurker here for quite a long time before actually signing on and becoming active. My background is primarily in law enforcement as I was a deputy sheriff for 17 years. I also have background in insurance investigations as well as criminal defense investigations. My most current employment is in the real estate business with property development (BORING).
Anyone please feel free to kick in with some ideas to get this forum active.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark pleased to meet you and all that... TWSBO have made good choice I think. I still have 2 years to go before I reach the tender and innocent age of 40 (turned 38 on January the 23rd), so if I have any questions I guess that I can ask you fellas, eh? :-)

Thats ok, I have a 22 year old son who is finishing up his probation this month. Just as I refused to listen to my dad and take his advice-the tradition carries on. My dad retired after 35 years.

Hey Jim, good to hear from you
Maybe we should start our own sub-group. My dad belonged to a group of distinguished (or as he would have said EXTINGUISHED) group known locally as "The Old Farts Club"

Hi Mark, Welcome to the team.
For the record, I'm not quite 40something yet, but my dad is a retired policeman.
Cheers
Henk

Well....I'm a 40 something...but I'm closer to 60 than to 30 (That just depresses the heck out of me!) I was a lurker too for a long time.
I rarely come to the Militaria Forum but I will start checking it out regularly. I have sort of a law enforcement / security background; Military policeman, Transportation Security Officer, and now Corrections Officer.
Thanks for the introduction...I'll check out the forum.

A suggestion for something that comes under this forum, how about a breakdown of kits of various types and give them a mark out of 10 or twenty, or break it down into ease of construction, accuracy of kit, accuracy of instructions, and value for money. As the database grows so should interest in the information it provides, I will be honest I am having difficulty articulating what I mean but I think you understand, or at least get the idea. If you need more information on the idea I am trying to get across just shout.
And yes I was 40 on the 13th of this month and my father is ex-copper as well.

Hello, I am not positive but I believe that would fall under one of the regular modelling forums. It is a great idea though.
