Hi all,

I've been lurking in the shadows for about 3 weeks now. Decided to finally bite the bullet and join. This site has a tremendous amount of information in it. Kudos to all who contribute.

When younger (44 now) built model cars, etc. Never armor, month ago decided to start back into it. The armor interest me now, may have bitten off more then I can chew, I'll get thru it, but typical for me to jump in with both feet.

Purchased 4 kits, all Dragon 1/35's...

Sd.KFz.182 King Tiger (Porsche Turret)
Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.D
Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.F (Verpanzer)
M1A1 AIM

Currently building the King Tiger and M1A1, had questions about the track building with the individual track assembly, but once ya get the hang of it (tack puddy became my new friend) it's really not that bad - thanks to the article in the painting section. I have one track completed on both tanks, just takes time and patience.

Airbrush and after detailing are currently my weakness, know how I want it to look, just not sure the ways to get there. Hopefully I can soak in as much knowledge from this site that is available, and who knows, make a couple acquaintences along the way.

Ahoy Blownemup,
Car modeling's for guys from #:-) . Welcome to Armor Modeling where we will pump you up.
Ahem!
Armor Modeling-
First: You'll need a workout~
I center mine in the yard around the grill. Alternated armlifts with a 12 ounce weight, whatever brand. Remember to stay hydrated. Soon you'll reach the zone, the zone of inspiration.
Then you tell your SigOther to watch the stove or you close the cover ('cause if you close the cover, the meat won't burn ) and run to Armorama to share your brilliance.
Follow these steps rigorously and build a few models and you're in!@:)

You said it Keith! I can't believe how much my armor modeling skills have improved since I found this site. Now I'm trying to improve my shipbuilding skills.

Welcome!

Frank,

Believe me, other forums that I've been on, your spelling would be an improvement over some that I've seen (that's a compliment btw). Thanks for the welcome from the white north.

Thanks, what I'm finding so amazing is the world wide interest of the hobby, just browsing thru post, all the countries represented. Never been on a forum that reached so far and so many.
