Hi Everybody,
I was wondering wich sort of glues everybody uses. i am modeling for about 10 years now, maybe a bit longer. Sinds i started modeling i used Liqued Glue from Revell or Uhu. it works pretty okay. the only problem i have is that it is verry liqued ant it leaks out of the wells i want to make. so i was curius what other alternatives there are for glueing. i love the thin needle thats on these glues i used before.
I wonder what sort of glues you gues use. let me know.
Greetings Léon

I used to use Testors liquid cement exclusively but have switched to Tamiya. For something less runny you might try the Testors.

Hi Leon,
I've passed your post to Marcel. He lives in Purmerend and should be able to help with the local needs.
He's a great bloke and very knowledgable.

you know I was looking at the list of glues I use. Here is what I found just on the bench:
Tenex 7
Tamiya
ambroib pro-weld
Testers (thickened)
MEK
Elemers white glue
Testers canopy Glue
1, 5 and 15 minute Epoxy
Watch crystal glue
3 different kinds of CA
3 or 4 others that are escaping me right now!
Seems like a lot, but each has its advantage.
More are available in Europe as I was living there for 4 years and had most of these there.

Ditto.. I find that different glues are good for different applications..
my main Glue is Plastruct, a liquid weld glue you apply with a built in brush application..
I also use Testors Model Master Glue and Testors clear parts glue, Elmers Glue, Faller super expert plastic glue,
as for CA glues (i.e. super glue) I thave extreme power Thick, Medium, and thin. Zap-A-Gap ca= glue and Super Jet CA glue..
Thats just whats on the bench area... I use Plastruct for my main building.. Clear parts glue for clear parts (: , the Testors liquid glue I use for when I need to fiddle something into place and don't want it to set right away.. the super glues are good for glueing resin and Photo-Etch parts in place or putting on small details that I want to set into place fast.. and so on..
One of the Modelers Mantra's is.. "you can't have too much glue"

It depends on the use.
For plastic:
- Revell Contacta
- Tamiya "green cap"
For resin:
- superglue (liquid and gel)
- epoxy (A+B 5 or 10 mins)
Ciao

As you've noticed, he's also very shy. Useless twit!
