I just took some photos of my dad's old tank he built when he was young. It looks realy good in real life, the photos are realy bad.
here you can see the candle soot effect, done 30 years ago.
Im still not shure what kit it is, probly a revell or another old one.
The model sits proudly on my shelf next to the otthers.

That's probably the Italeri kit which had 3 variants of the P IV, a short barrel 75mm and two versions of the long barrel. :-)

If I had to guess I'd say it's either the old Tamiya Panzer IV Ausf H or the Monogram version The reason I say that is because this model has the steel support rollers or return rollers as some people say As far as I know none of the Italeri Panzer IV kits had the steel ones,only the rubber ones I could be wrong though

I agreed with Generalzod, i bulit a few of those in the past strating from early 70s. Anyway congrats for your dad's work!

The weathering on the lower hull, between the wheels... That'a the candle soot method ?
That looks damn good. I am really impressed with it, looks like very realistic grime and dirt patterns. If that's not the candle method, I'd love to know how he did it :-)
