Thats a cool car.  The seam work is great. It's hard to get seams that tight with wood.

It is a 1936 Mercedes-Benz 500K Special Roadster all wood and brass in 1/10th scale.
I used a variety of different woods in its construction.It is complete with all engine and drive train details.I just got a new digital camera so once I learn how to use it I will send in some more detailed shots.Hope you like it! Cheers! John.

The above pic is of the wheel assembly.It is distorted due to the scanner but it gives you an idea of how it was made.
The tire is walnut with a cherry wood rim.The hub is hard maple.The cap is a brass washer glued to maple .
The brass rod is a standard hobby store item and the long screw is imbedded into the tire which holds the whole thing to the base.
As an alternative black ebony could be used for the tire but I like the richness of the American black walnut!
