First off, I want to thank Gino(HeavyArty) for being such a good asset to this web sight and a good internet buddy, not to mention a fellow soldier!
For doing some good trades with me and not to mention the homemade PLGR's, I wanted to return the favor. Even though Gino has showed that he can scratch build himself, I still wanted to give this to him to show my appriciation.
I had recieved the updated ETM(Electronic Technical Manual) for the M1114 and while fliping through the parts manual, I came across the parts break down of the turret gun sheild. I tried to replicate it has best as I could, and Gino seems to like it. This is as close as I could get it to the real thing, mounting points and all.

Looks very good Pete. How long did it take to build it?

Wow Pete, another incredible scratch build! I think you should have painted it and told us it WAS the real thing! We would have believed you! :-)

Better and better. Awesome Pete. I definitely have to add a little more detail to mine. Are you retrofitting a duplicate of this to your 1114?
Oh and is the new ETM online yet?

As for the ETM, the date on the one I used is 1 July 2006.

That looks very nice Pete! One of your finest pieces of scratch work and what a kind gesture aswell. I wish my skills were as good.
Im going to have to practise making these now, my 3 MIG M1114 conversions arrived today long with all the other Humvee stuff, and 50+ resin think 180 figures :-) Im going to have a lot of builds on my hands.

Pete,
Nice turret! I'm thinking of trying to scratchbuild one of the Iraqi Army ones I see here in Northern Iraq from time to time. As with the Bulgarian ones I saw in Baghdad, these seem to be all 1:1 scale "scratchbuilt" ones! I like the camo carried by the Iraqi Hummers as well...a light sand, a medium green that looks for all the world like the old Soviet AF green and a medium brown color...all faded quite nicely of course.
I'll be looking forward to seeing your turret mopunted on a HUMMER of your building.
Ron

That's a very nice bit of scratchbuilding, Pete, and a very generous gesture. You can really make some jewels out of lowly styrene bits!
Good luck on your "vacation," by the way.

Pete, it looks awesome! Great job.
I started already with the build of am M1114 (Mig Pro. Conversion) and would also add this Gunners Shield.
I searched also this ETM, but I can`t find the corecct one. Can you help me?
Best regards
Marcel
