Hi chaps
I keep getting an error when i submit posts :-
Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/mgadmin/public_html/modules/SquawkBox/common.php on line 433
When i go back and re hit submit i get _DUPLICATE POST, but the post is only there the once

Andy,
When you get a duplicate post message it means that the message you tried to post matches the number of characters (exactly) from your last post. So theoretically if you were to post:
"Great kit!" in one post and then:
"Large cat!" in another post it would likely give you this error.
Not a perfect solution to the duplicate posting problem but it has worked pretty well so far except in a few cases.
I am not really sure what you are describing though when you say
Isn't it only suppose to be there once?
Jim

Hi Jim,
I've gotten that same "duplicate post" message a lot recently. But I don't think it was a result of matching the number of characters thing. I think it usually happens when I take a while to finish writing my response.
Either way, when I first got it, I too expected to see my post in the thread appear twice (I've seen this happen before). Apparently the software either stops or removes the duplicate post.
I think this may be what Andy is refering to.
Andy...am I right?
Cheers,
Craig
PS: Jim, if you want, I'll copy the exact error message I get when this happens. If I can remember too, that is :-)

It is indeed only supposed to be there once, i'm more concerned about the initial error code, if i get this i just hit back on the browser and resubmit, so it would be the same no of char's. If it helps i'm using the latest verion of Firefox. It's a pain in the sitons rather than a major issue.
This time i didn't go back, and the post is there - so it looks like a refresh issue
Keep up all the good work Jim
Andy
