Just been watching "The Giant Gila Monster" from '59. Don't you just love those monster films from the '50's? Plenty of cool hot rods and other cars though....

Yep those old 50s monster flicks were pretty cool. What about all the little M24s and such Godzilla would crunch every time he came to town?

Always been a fan of those, even ones with horrid SPFX like one in which giant grasshoppers are crawling up the side what is very clearly a picture of a skyscraper!

I loved the Ray Harryhausen stuff. LIke the giant Octopus that destroyed the Golden Gate Bridge, or the Beast that ravaged Coney Island, or even the little cutie (Ymir) that grew too big in Italy.

My favorite has to be "Them", well done special effects for the 50's.

Remember the 50's version of The Thing? I loved how they were climbing all over the flying saucer with the high level of radiation :-) :-)

I remember the the 'Black Scorpion', set in Mexico I think where the giant scorpions were mainly shadows of real scorpions and one of the characters shoots the scorpions with - A Bren gun!

I liked "Them!" with the giant ants. I have fond memories of watching those monster movies as a kid. I still have one of those Gamera models.

I loved and still do love watching them. Especially The Blob, THEM! and, if it can be a 'monster movie', Forbidden Planet.
