Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone has the figures from any of the following tamiya kits going spare,Churchill,Universal carriers,Comet and Centaur?
Also any spare bereted, beanied or even bare heads would be greatly appreciated.
I hope to use them to build a dio of NZ troops (tamiyas British on patrol figures)along with DML Sherman III in a dio set in Italy in late 43 or early 44.
As many NZ troops didn't particularly like wearing helmets they wore their berets or Beanies(wool hats).
I haven't actually got any of the kits for the dio in my hands right now but like to do a bit of forward planning to see how much I might have to spend.
The only thing I have to offer in return is unbuilt 6 figures (I have used the rest) from the Tamiya Russian army assault infantry set.

Thanks for the help Andy

I'd suggest shelling out for a couple of packs of Hornet british heads - they're available wearing a variety of headgear, including RAC (Royal Armoured Corps) rimless steel helmets (seen on photos of Kiwis in italy), berets, GS caps (similar to a beret, but different ) and 'caps, comforter'.

The 'cap, comforter' is the so-called 'Commando' style wool hat, which you've called by it's more modern name of 'beanie'.

Once you've mixed in some new heads, have a look at the limited range of Dragon British and Commonwealth figures, including their excellent SAS NW Europe set - more than enough variety there to put together a patrol of pirates, sorry, NZ Infantry in Italy...

Cheers Acav, It looks like I may have to do that I am tempted to get the DML SAS set. I will have a look into the Hornet heads.

Andrew,
Contect Vinnie [Teacher] for the list of 'Widows' items that he has to sell as there are some Uk figures in amongst the huge amount of materials that he has catalogued.
