This may be irrelivent but I am writing a WW2 story (yes I got the idea from BoB but I had already been writing different stories). I need some common American WW2 nicknames to throw in. I don't just want a list of nicknames from BoB(I already did that).

THanks Matt

Well, we weren't as culturally sensitive, so nicknames reflecting a person's ethnic heritage would be common as would ones relating to a person's stature, either directly or inversely.
A big guy might be named Tank or Tiny, a short guy Stretch or Shorty, someone in his later 20's might be Pops, a Franco American might be Frenchy, someone with glasses Four Eyes, an Italian Tony and a Mexican American Chico, regardless of their given name, a bald guy Curly, referencing one of the 3 Stooges, a tall skinny guy, Beanpole.
You get the idea.

A couple others. Anybody with the last name of Rhoads, any spelling, would be called Dusty. Of course red headed people would be Red. Depending on the setting for your story sometimes the name would reflect their job. Radioman would be Sparks. Sarge would be very common. Also it was quite normal to call somebody after the state they came from, Colorado, Texas, etc.
