Hi all I work in the wines and spirits department of our local tescoes we have been quite busy with the build up to christmas and this has put me under a lot of stress, and my legendary temper has been pushed to the limit by idiotic management. well yesterday my senoir manager gave me a bottle of 18year old Glenfidich "thanks for all the hard work John" It was glorious like liquid velvet, I promised him I wouldnt shout at him for at least a week.

It's nice to hear your boss appreciates hard work when he sees it. I had a cool boss and a cool supervisor once, as well. My supervisor was the guy who runs modelwarships.com and he is almost as big a geek as I am. We would play Red Alert II over lunch (though I don't know if I ever beat him). I am not going to mention how many hours of company time we wasted talking about everything from religion to the military. Anyway, enjoy the wine. It will probably be another year before you get more recognition.

Very nice John, but I would have asked him for something really decent in the medicinal range. The Ardbeg is slipping nicely down at this very moment..........lol

Enjoy!

Hmmm, Texco giving away a freebee.... have you checked the sell by date?

I think I'll treat myself to a drop (or two) of Jaegermaister after all this talk about wine...

We've been having a lot of bad stuff going on at work. my former production manager was facing a dilema: he had to ensure production was maintained because we had a lot of orders, but no welder would work at the wages we offered according to our convention with the comitee. So he hired quite a few workers at 18.50 an hour. One of them a specialist in hydrolics apperantly spent a week welding on a bench because his welding wasnt adequate. as if it wasnt enought, many were hired at 18.50 when they should start at about 15. So now, we've had guys at 16$ training a guy at 18.50.... They got themselves in quite a mess...

However, we do have a new manager because the other quite... Funny guy, i've been working part time there for 3 years and he was expecting a baby to show up lol... my dad was doing overtime on saturday so i came in also to re organize the inventory ( we are trying to get a label similar to ISO for the inventory) so when he came in he began asking if i did anything wrong, my dad looked at him and said "listen, he's my son and been working here for 3 years, i sure hope he knows what he's doing"

Damn, i wish everyboss was as nice as yours... the closest i got was a .40 cent raise... and in the following convention they made sure no students would get over 8.00 an hour and i have to supply my own work boots... Talk about giving incentives to your employess....

Some people definatly need an intro to business course lol

Sorry for the rant, just bad memories but their funny, iam learning a lot from it since iam studying business... hopeullyonce i graduate il be able to straighten them up a bit!
