Just a thought to share this with fellow modellers,
Sunday night.....relaxing....building a model....then this thought went
through my mind:
It is the year 5000 A.D.
The world as we know it, is gone. Global warming and other natural
causes have completely changed the face of our planet. There is a
rebirth...life starts over again...a new evolution.
Travelers from another world finally discover and explore Earth.
They establish archeological digs all over the planet and start to
uncover interesting artifacts.......our scale models!
Ships, planes, tanks and figures..etc!
I WONDER WHAT THEY'LL THINK!..................AND YOU?
:-)
Have a nice day and happy modelling,
Joe

Joe, interesting question as it has crossed my mind also.
But we all know I'm already brain damaged from excessive use of lacquer thinners at an early age. :-) :-)
I believe the future archaeologists (did I spell that right?) will probably draw some extremely strange and probably wrong conclusions about "us" in their findings, and discoveries.

It'll probably re-start the "chipping" debate.
Or someone will say " I didn't realize those ancient weapons
had black muzzle brakes"
Or maybe they'll find one of mine and think "what the hell was this guy thinking?"
Cheers,
Charles

Yeah, considering that we modelers never sign our models, :-). These "future people" may know what the model represents, and what kit maker made it, but they sure don't know WHO built it and why.
I guess we should all seal little namecards inside tank hulls, eh? :-)

It'll be just like the little figurines and fertility totems that we're digging up now from so-called primitive cultures that have similarities all over the world. They'll find a panzer yellow PzKw IV over here and on the other side of the world they'll find exactly the same thing. Both will have the little Tamiya motorization holes in the bottom and they'll be astounded at the similarities in design and and think...wow, they had parallel cultural development!!! hahahaha

Remember folks, contrary to what you might have heard, we humans don't have the capability to kill the planet. We could well screw it up bad enough that humans can't survive here but there will always be something waiting (roaches) to take our place on the evolutionary ladder.
Cheers,
Shaun

I'll be just about finished building all the kits in my stash by then.
