Recently I was avoiding the task of cutting 80+ rivets for a project until I came up with a possible solution to this tedious task. I have literally hundreds of blades as I get them on clearance and in bulk. With this in mind I had a flash of potential genius! The theory is to take several regular flat blades (not #11's although they might work as well) and gang them up in a series. So I took 5 blades out of the pack and squared them up. Then I held them tight with my fingers (I tried a clamp but that just got in the way). I then set the ends over a piece of rod styrene and gave the spine of the blades a few light taps with a hammer. Voila! I had five instant rivets! Granted they still had that annoying bevel to them however it was consistent with each one.
After applying them a little sanding with 800 grit paper made them fairly even. You could of course gang 10 blades and 8 functions later have 80 rivets! Even with an odd one here an their you can still produce many many rivets with very little work! I have a pic here for you to see but it is a bit fuzzy. I think you can still get the idea though.
