Hi Craig,

Go to Bunnings .
There is a water based floor polish called Feast Watson.
It comes in a 1 litre white plastic bottle .About $20.
Dilute with a small of water and away you go.
Some people have used it straight out of the bottle but I would suggest to
thin it down before hand

Hope it helps

Cheers
Michael

I have used Pascoes Long Life - Floor Polish, for the past couple of years. Can be found at Coles etc and 500 ml cost about $5 and will last you ages.

Works well, high gloss finish and dries realy hard and air brushes straight from the bottle.

James if you want the "real" product Future floor polish then I'm pretty sure that Bill Wong over at Hobby HQ in Reservoir brings the stuff in and re-sells it. You can contact him at the store on 94625487.

Personally I use Future (I had a mate in the States send me a bottle) but have tried both Pledge One Go and Pascoes Long Life. Both of these products do work but both are ammonia based so watch out for fumes and with Long Life watch out for your paint if you use acrylics.

The best thing to do is try a little of whatever it is you decide to use on a scrap that you have painted and watch what affect if any it has on the paint.

Cheers

Craig

Arms Model IT make a product called Passt, prepared specifically for use as an acrylic sealer for models. I've used Johnson's Klear (brought some back from UK earlier this year) and it's just as good (it's the UK version of Future). Apparently you have to watch a lot of the floor sealers as they contain wax and will go yellow with age, which Passt does not.

I can't remember the price of the Passt, but it wasn't that bad. Arms Model IT is at Kippa-ring near Redcliffe just north of Brisbane, and their Web address is www.armsmodelit.com.au

Al and Shelley (who run the shop) are exceptionally helpful.

Regards

Rob

Craig

I came across this article that may be of interest to you:

http://www.swannysmodels.com/TheCompleteFuture.html

It's by Matt Swann and is a comprehensive review of Future clones all around the world.

I haven't tried any of the locally available products yet but I'll have my eyes peeled next time I'm in Bunnings.

Remember it well, before the advent of Patent leather parade boots we used to use the old one go. It could be amusing if someone put it on at the last minute on a wet grassy parade ground.

Should be fine.

Be aware that it will cost about $7-$8 for the bottle and between $20-$30 fo ship it.

I have used pledge one step before and another one - magic something (sorry, can't quite remember). I wasn't happy with them.

Hi Hector, and welcome to Kitmaker. Where in Victoria are you ?

Take a read of this thread The Future is Clear and your query should be answered.

I use Pledge One-Go from Coles on all of my kits. Airbrush straight from the bottle and clean-up after with Windex.

Any more queries there are plenty of knowledgable folk here willing to help.

Cheers, D

Sorry for digging this one up, but that PASST stuff, what do you use to clean it up, and do you know if it reacts with metho after it's dry? I'm thinking of buying some so any input would be much appreciated.

Make sure you don't get the ammonia free Windex.

What you really need is the ammonia and being in Windex makes it a bit more usable, you can use cloudy ammonia but it is pretty awful stuff to work with, glasses, gloves and mask are a must.

I checked with S.C.Johnson Sydney to day and they said that One Go has been discontinued. They have nothing in the range similar to Future.
All supermarkets are out of stock.
