Hi

Here is a true story from yesterday.

Yesterday my eight year old son Matthew (Armorama call sign Mattyboy) was home sick and since its my day off I was looking after him.

His birthday is next month.

He has successfully built an Airfix 1/72nd Tiger and Panther.

He says to me whilst I am actually at the modelling table (yes its been awhile) "Dad do you know what I really want for my birthday?

I said "No I don't what would you like for your birthday son?"

He said "I would like a Tiger tank but a big one"

I responded "You mean like this size (1/35 th) like the size I work on"

He said "Yes please can I have one"

I said "We will see you but you will need to be a real good boy wont you"

He said"Yes I will can I help you on this please Dad?"

I said "Yes sure"

I did not know whether to cry or hug him so I did both.

I was so proud of him and told him so.

Its at moments like these that I feel like I am being successful as a parent.

I know I have a few 1/35 Academy Early Tiger duplicate kits in the stash so looks like one will be earmarked for my young apprentice.

Its so great to be handing on the modelling torch.

Regards

Sean
