Hello, my next question for airbrushers out there is: Is it worth the $$ to get the soft braided air hose rather than the stiff curly air hose that comes with the Smart Jet comp.? And is there any performance difference ?
cheers.

The vinyl hose is lighter than the braded ones, but the braded last longer and can take knocks and cuts that the vinyl ones can't.

It's really personal preferance.

I'd either use the one with the compressor until it fails then replace it with a braded one. Or buy a braded one and use the vinyl one as a backup.

The braided ones dont have as much tendancy to curl and twist into a mess (particularly when attching to the airbrush).

Keep an eye out for deals and when you can snatch one up, I'd recommend going with the braided hose. I got mine from Hobby Lobby with a 40% coupon, it's much longer than the vinyl hose and I don't worry about damaging it.

I have one of each, I had a braided hose but it won't fit my Aztec brush but that hose has lasted 6 years so far. Is it worth the expense I would say wait until the hose looks like it will wear out then replace it. Spend the money on paint in the mean time. The braided hose is heavier and you will notice a bit of drag as you work. Unless you airbrush is getting daily use or the hose it came with is really awful, do you think its worth it?

A braided hose with a quick disconnect fitting added is probably the best hose.

Totally agree kev
The quick disconnect fitting is a must have,I don't know how I managed all these years without one.

Keep the plastic hose. I thought I would like the braided hose better but it felt to heavy to me so I since pitched it and went and bought a couple of plastic hoses
