Hello everyone, new modeler here. OK I hope this hasnt been asked a million times but....I use a Paasche H for now, but would like something for finer lines and detail painting. Between Iwata HP CS or HP C plus. I like the c plus, any thoughts ?

O.K. call me crazy but I couldn't wait. I had a line on an Iwata HP C Plus for $155.00 Cdn. new, in box, with papers. Only other store that carry it priced it at over $129.00 MORE, (249.95 plus 14% tax. I only just picked it up, so havent used it yet. If the original practise / test card that came with the brush is any indication of how fine a line one can get with this brush then I am impressed indeed. This price point is well below MSRP, and even less than an HP CS.
Will post more after using. Thanks.

You made the right choice. I have an HP-C and an HP-C Plus. Good for general painting and fine detail work along with easy cleanup. I think you will be happy with your decision.

The only in store location I could find for this ab was Currys. There are lots of online sites but mainly us. There is a Canadian site I think in manitoba but there list on items is waaaay out there.
Curry's list is $249.95 Cdn. OK a great price for a great product yada yada. In a round about sort of way I managed upon another site that sold airbrushes. No middle man, no huge overhead or mark up. Yes this company makes a profit I'm sure, but not the way big stores gouge buyers.
The contact location is..................Whosedepot.com
Get in touch with them and inquire about local (Toronto) pick ups.
So far my experience has been positive. BUT again I have not actually used the ab yet, but its factory fresh.
Cheers.

Hello all, O.K. just tried the Iwata HP C Plus. I'm not an expert, or seasoned airbrusher or modeler but this airbrush makes quick and easy work of painting items. The pre set handle allows only a small portion of paint to come through, great for newbies to the double action type ab.
I only had the chance ot use for about an hour before other details called me away, so more to follow in later post if anyone is interested. (I'm not much of a computer guy so I think its cool that I can even sign on a post this stuff without help from my teenager.)
Cheers :-)

I paid $319 US last April for an HP-C Plus along with a tank compressor and have been very pleased with both ever since. The airbrush is a breeze to clean and is limited in performance only by my own ineptitude. The compressor is quiet and does exactly what it’s supposed to. I got them from autobodydepot.com. If you go to their website, the price is $369, but if you get them as “Buy It Now” through ebay as I did the price is still $319. They shipped my order the same day I placed it. And just for the record, I'm merely a satisfied customer and not affiliated with them in any way.

I just ordered an HP-C Plus from Dixieart to replace my 155 anthem. I want more control and trigger feedback then siphon feeds which seem a little inconsistant. Plus the cleanup headache...

Further to my initial posting of the Iwata HP C Plus. The brush is well balanced and has a good weight and feel in the hand. The bright chrome finish gives it a sleek and professional look as well, not that the looks matter too much. The paint cup has a lid but as of yet I have not found a need to use it as the quantities of paint I use most of the time does not come near the lip of the cup. Even when painting on angles and such the airbrush feels balanced. For general spraying and priming the brush worked great with thin and thick Tamiya primer cut with isopropyl alcohol. For some finer painting I found if I lowered the air presure on the Iwata Smart Jet compressor it again worked great. At higher presure and close proximity to the model the paint and primer had a tendency to spread. The pre set handle feature is pretty cool as it limits the travel of the trigger thereby governing the amount of paint put out. Consistant narrow lines were a breeze with this feature. Cleaning is prety simple and I think easier than on my Paasche H siphon feed brush. As of yet I havent had to completely strip the brush to clean it. After I have finished painting for the day I clean the cup, rinse several times, use a cotton Q-tip to clean the bottom of the cup and its away. No problems with the tip getting clogged as I have heard from other sites (touch wood).
Overall an excellent investment, not just a purchase, to make. For people looking to better their current brush or start off with a higher end brush look at the HP C Plus from Iwata.

I just started tinkering with mine today too The trigger stop makes it a piece of cake. Perfect balance, great atomization, easy to clean great response and feel, AND a set screw that won't let you flinch and dump paint, it just doesn't get any easier.
