Fellows.
What is a a good quality artist soft pastels? I've found three names which seems to be alright and not too expensive either.
Inscribe Soft Pastels 64 half size for 6.98 Pound
Faber Castell Goldfaber Studio Soft Pastels 72 Half Sticks assorted 15.99 Pound
Faber Castell Goldfaber Studio Soft Pastels 48 Half Sticks assorted
9.99 Pound
Daler Rowney has a few good sets as well....
Which is the better buy? Is there any point getting a larger set or is it better to buy a small one? I'm sort of cought between a rock and a hard place here...... :-) What do you suggest?

Both Faber Castell and Daler Rowney make good soft pastels.
Instead of buying a complete large set, look for the smaller "earth tone" sets, if you do aircraft, look for their "Grey Tones", or buy each stick separately.

Soft Pastels are the chalky type. That's what you look for.
Oil pastels are more of a crayon type substance.
