This is my progress report on my Messerspit build, or the Sorry Mal i just had to do it thread .
So far i have cut of the Merlin engine front end, removed the 2 wing stiffeners from each wing and cut off both of the cannons.
The cockpit is basically done apart from "borrowing" the Sutton harness from the Eduard Spit. I will post pics of the cockpit later as the dull-coat is still drying.
Andy

EDIT. Updated pics of the cockpit. None of the main assemblies are glued yet, but everything, including the resin engine cowling fits perfectly. I have to refill the back of the seat as the voltage regulator is not needed.

All very nice Andy, but you do realise that this puts you at the top of the hit list
I don't think that it's right to use modelling in this way, I might end up hurting the kids as I'm so outraged

Update
Pretty much all the main parts are on, primed and pre-shaded.
Now for a Yellow (RLM 04) underneath and control surfaces. The upper surfaces are Graugrun/ Grauviolett - RLM 74/75 and the sides of the fuselage are RLM 75 with RLM 74 mottling. Hopefully i can get this painted today (in-between F1 and footie matches :-) ).

Your OK yoghurt is safe, I was refering to mine, at least the one that is still at home. Could be a bonus as it might make her leave

I still beleive that there is something fundimentally wrong dipicting a Spitfire in this way and someone should get hurt Apart from that it's looking errrrrr............................................OK

Is it your youngest still living at home. My youngest has promised never to leave Mummy and Daddy ever :-) .
Update
Painting is done, now to Future her and add the decals. The mottling is a lot less pronounced in the flesh, but you know me and cameras :-).

Cheers Henk.
I am thinking about bringing it to Telford, but it all depends if a certain Spitfire fanatic will fly it into a wall :-) .

Looks even less like a Spitfire now with the decals on, but i reckon once the canopy goes on, there will be no mistaking it :-) .

Finished.
Painted with Xtracrylixs, washes with W+N oils and the exhaust weathered with Alcad Jet Exhaust and Mig pigments.
A rather enjoyable build, but most of the thanks must go to Tamiya and Fusion models for producing such an easy kit to put together.

I just pinched this off Penny Pierce's (Ladymodelbuilder) sig line, I thought it was apt and makes me feel better over this travesty

Nice job Andy!
Another speed build,,severe withdraw symptoms here mate
Just beware of "butterfingers Mayfield" if you bring it to Telford
:-)
I like it,,but then I like Spits and yellow is my favourite colour too!
Hmm,,,do they do a 1:72 version?
