It's been over 20 years now since I last touched my 1/35 collection. I kept a lot of unbuilt kits from the days when I was part of IPMS up this way. Anyways, jumping back into it slowly................ starting off with some WWII figures. But WOW!!! Things have changed in 20 years. And some of the finished products I've seen via the internet are truly incredible. Available resources are unbelievable as well.
Hopefully this winter I'm going to set up a little shop in the basement for my son and myself as he's interested (6.5 years old !!). Should be some great father and son time

Welcome to the site from waaaaaaay up north of you in Barrie. :-)
I was pretty much the same boat as you. Got back in the hobby a few years ago after 12 years away.
Enjoy your return but don't get too overwhelmed with the stuff you see on the net. Start back slowly and get your skills back and don't be afraid to ask questions on here. This site is full of great people with ALOT of knowledge.

Yeah, my fingers are a little shakier then I remember and I think I need to get one of those lights with a magnifier !!! My eyes aren't the same either. Getting back the "feel" will take some time I know but I'm looking forward to it.
Part of the reason I'm starting up again is to find something that's quiet that I can loose myself in. My schedule with work, running a business, having a family and all the other "Stuff" has me rung out pretty bad. So I need something like this and I use to luv to spend time building and painting.
Dave, what is this show in 6 weeks ??? When and where ??

Welcome Tom. I too was away for awhile but have returned to the fold. It can be a great activity for kids. Hope to see your builds on the site.

Welcome, Tom, you've come across one of the greatest resources you could get for modelling! Glad to hear that your kid is interested as well. This is a good time to get him started, and you're certainly right about the changes in what the hobby has to offer.
