The First of the Abrams arrive in Australia Whooohoooo
Bring em on i say!
Apparently we are meant to be getting a new heavy transport vessel for the navy capable of finally transporting our armour overseas, and also some C-5/C-17's to transport them and everything else by air!!!
Personally im wrapped to see our defence force upgrading and upsizing.
Cheers

"it is not a Commonwealth division, it is an Australian Division, why, give me 2 Australian Divisions and i will conquer the world for you!"

We are getting 4 C-17s, the only non-US country to buy them instead of lease. The first is supposed to arrive before christmas. Already have pilots and crew in the US training on them.
Don't you feel more like you do now than you did when you came in?

Yes but still a little sad to the see the big cats go. The C5's are an amazing piece of work in themselves. Two Abrams is one thing but 10 LAVs on board, man that's cool. Even the C-17 can carry 5 M113s or an Abrams but only two LAVs (based on my reading). In my opinion, that's an awfully small number of LAVs even for a quick response force.
Cheers
