As an Ordnance maintenance guy (in the 70's), similar little faux pax by the treadheads provided me with unlimited challenges to get them recovered ... I loved it !!!

Wow I sure hope to heck that the crews of those rollovers were okay.

Some really interesting pictures there.

Thanks for sharing.

Interesting photos, that could really bring out a lot of "really dumb Grumpy questions" about how they get into such bogged down situations. (I can understand some of the roll overs, due to collapsing ground/river banks, but some looked like they were purposely dug in like that.

Remember I was in the Navy... but did spend a week on an aircraft carrier sitting grounded on an unexpected sand bar. :-) :-)

Thanks for the link Al. You know some of those crewmen got bruised up.

From experience, there can be ground that looks like good field that really sits over a bog -- light farm tractors, etc, can traverse, but not the big guys ... If s time & space permitted, I could tell you long (but TRUE) stories about a certain area in Germany and the 1st Inf antry Division on REFORGER 77 ....

Great pics !

And as a thought if we actually modelled any dios like this without "proof" pics we'd get laughed out of dodge ....................!
