The voice of British Television, Raymond Baxter sadly passed away today at the age of 84. He will be sadly missed!

I hadn't realised he was a pilot during WW2 until I read the obituary.

anyone of a certain age (like me!) will remember raymond as the voice of "tomorrows world" he also presented the farnborough airshow on the bbc as he had flown spitfires in ww2

A sad loss.
Watching the Farnborough air show wont seem the same now.

I remember him telling a story years ago I think it was on This is Your Life .About when flying on ops a V2 rose out of a forrest straight in front of his Spitfire ,so he gave it a burst.He said he was glad he didn`t hit it after he saw one explode.

Hmmmm......when I read the thread title and saw the name "Raymond Baxter" I immediately heard his voice in my head....his presence will be missed.
