Rep[orts were that he was in a Daytona Coupe, which he designed 42 years ago and is one of the most fabled and rarest cars in automotive history.

My bad, the Daytona Coupe I was thinking of was the 1964-65 Cobra Daytona Coupe, powered by a huge 427 CI Ford motor.

They were designed strictly for road racing and excelled at LeMans. There may have been only 8 or 9 built. Thre have been several mutations of the Dodge Daytona...a Charger based supercar in the late 60's and early '70's
.

Then a late 80's econo-performance car:

And the new Charger based Daytona:

Hi Jeff

Extremely sad news.

I met Brocky 9 years ago a top guy indeed and a superb racing car driver.

The car he was racing was styled upon the 1964-65 Cobra Daytona Coupe as pictured by Al it was powered by a Gen III Chevrolet 350 cu inch motor.

It was very quick and I heard a recent radio interview where Brocky said he was virtually sitting over the rear differential of the car when driving. But he said he loved driving the car.

He was "King of the Mountain".

May he rest in peace.

Regards

Sean

Very sad news, at least as his daughter said he died doing what he loved. A true legend and icon.
