Hi All,
Just got Tamy's AAVP7 (#35159) and was wondering the best way to scratch the stowage racks on the angled portion of the hull top either side of the top hatches.
I'm considering making a template from wood and nails and heating the rod with hot water then bending it around the nails to give the correct curves to the corners of the uprights.
Unless someone has a better method?
TIA

Tom,

I am planning on doing the same (adding the racks) and was considering using solder...

Tom,

I dont know if you solder, but they would look to be fairly simple to bake from some brass rod, shaped and soldered with a variety of low melt solders.

John,
I've considered soldering. But since I'll have to find some way of bending them all the same (a jig of some sort), I decided just to bend plastic rod. I just think it'll be easier.

Thomas,
I've confused myself (probably reading too much into your post) but are you considering using solder wire to make the racks or soldering metal to make the racks?
If the former I think solder will bend too easily to do a good job.
Tom
