I agree, what ever people think of the kits now, we all started modelling using Airfix.
Does anyoone know who owns the models, Heller, Humbrol?

Hi There
Airfix, Humbrol et al. are/were owned by an Irish Capital fund so they own the moulds. Heller did most of the actual moulding I believe, although I'm unsure about Hellers status within the Humbrol family. Heller were in administration several days ago.
Hopefully Airfix will rise again and learn from the England footballers sets
The fact is that Airfix made the plastic kit market what it is today so it's demise is all the sadder.

From Radio 4 Today program this morning there seems to be a problem with the moulds all being in France with Heller - the administrators will hopefully be able to get them back and Airfix may rise again.

I really hope they do! I grew up on Airfix kits.

Apparently Hornby are preparing a rescue package for the company. It really is a shame as some of the kits they have released in the last few years have been superb such as the Sipt Mk24 and the TSR-2.
