Sorry if this is old hat, but what is the best/reliable online store to use? My LHS doesn't have the brush/paint/supply selections i would like. Anyone have an idea which site to use?

I've been using Squadron.com for over 18 years. Rarely had a problem, and when I did, it was always quickly rectified to my satisfaction.

Jim,

I have a pretty short list of who I deal with:

* Sprue Brothers - some of the best service and delivery times of any of the online sites. What's cool is that what's online is what's in stock.
* Great Models - huge selection, good prices, decent delivery time, service has been pretty good in my experiences.
* Hobbylinc - good selection & prices, a little slow on order processing. Never had to contact their customer service.

Hope that helps!

- Frank

I've never really had any bad experiences, and I've also had very good experiences with Squadron, Great Models, and Sprue Brothers.

I've been using Squadron since the 70's without many problems, 2 come to mind, and new kits dispached when I called about the missing or damaged parts, not just the parts. I like the active shopping cart, 99.9% of the time I've gotten complete orders from them. Order normally arrives with in a week and free shipping over $100.00 is a good deal.

Sprue Brothers is also tops in customer service, and quick shipping. Gordon is a great guy, and always answers any email questions quicly, and so far has a batting avg of 100% on shipping me complete orders due to his "in stock totals" on his shopping cart.

RedFrog, is another one that tries to please, did only one order so far but very pleased with the friendly customer service, and only one kit was back ordered, and that arrived the next week.

I've ordered from Squadron a number of times and if there has been any problems, they have jumped to the pump to help correct them. Wish I got service here like that!
Sprue Brothers have been great for their service, too!

Jim, I have dealt with Squadron, Roll Models and Meteor. The Squadron website will show what is available, and if you try to add an out of stock item to your cart you get a flag. Delivery is quick, normally a week or less.

Roll Models offers better prices than Squadron for most items, but be prepared to wait. I have an order into Roll for some decals and scribing tools that was placed on July 28. Not here yet, but I was not in a hurry, so I am not concerned. I also recall that Roll Models will issue an email alert that your package has shipped.

I have not purchased too much from Meteor, but I do not recall any problems. What product lines Squadron or Roll Models might not carry, Meteor often times will.

I have used Squadron Mail Order for many years myself. I have always had good luck with them. Their sales people and service department are great. I always recommend them to everyone who is looking for a good model source. I am sure they will work out good for you.
