Hi all,
I have an old DML 1/35 Abrams that I am working on, but I don't have a mine plow If there is anybody who has a Tamiya mine plow that they don't intend to use, I would be interested in purchasing all relevant parts and a photo copy of the instructions. I ''m going to do Sinister Minister from the Echelon Sheet -- the horned head is just to cool not to use
Please PM me if you can help.
Thanks,
-Doug

Okay, let me try a different route.
Can someone please tell me the Kit number, and the sprue letters that contain these parts, so I can order them form Tamiya?
Thanks,
-Doug

Here you go Douglas. It is sprue E.
U.S.M1A1 ABRAU.S.M1A1 Avrams With Mine Plow #158
Here is Trumpeters M1A1 with Mine Plow. It is kit #00335
And here is Dragons kit.
Dragon also sold the plow as a seperate kit. It was kit #3804 but it is out of production. I happen to find one at one of my LHS collecting dust and it was on sale.

Thanks for the info,
that was exactly what I was looking for! Now I guess the question is, which mineplow is the best? Tamiya, Trumpeter, or Dragon?
Thanks,
-Doug

Trumpeters is the best of all three, but it needs a little bit more in the cleaning up process. It has a little bit more detail than the other two. I actually have both the Trumpter and the Dragon one right here with me. I brought them to work so I could clean them up on my breaks.

Gino,
Epi edited his post after I posted the plow Q. At least I hope he did or I'm losing it...

Doug, believe it or not, you can normally find the Trumpeter M1A1 w/mine plow on eBay for less money than it would probably cost for the Dragon or Tamiya mine plow alone. Additionally, Trumpeter's M1 Panther II mine clearing tank includes both the mine roller and mine plow. Since the overall Trumpeter Panther is inferior to the Dragon Panther, the Trumpeter Panther kit goes for less money on eBay as well. I think I paid $5 plus shipping for mine.
There is also the chance that someone who built the Trumpeter Panther and used the mine roller has the mine plow left over and is willing to part with it for next to nothing.
Here is a Trumpeter Panther II kit for $8 plus shipping: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250026346866. I think the Trumpeter plow is pretty nice overall.

Thanks for the input Sabot,
I checked out the link on ebay, and shipping would make it about $17.00, so I think I will pass. Maybe I will find some kind soul who doesn't need a mine plow
