Hi guys. Joe Rosenthal, the man who took the photo of the flag raising on Iwo Jima has passed away, he was 94. Our thoughts go out to his family at this time!

Highly recommend that anyone interested in knowing more about Joe Rosenthal, who took the second and most famous photo, and Bill Genaust, who took the original photo of the flag raising on Mt Suribachi, read the book UNCOMMON VALOR, COMMON VIRTUE by Hal Buell.
It explains in depth the controversy that developed around the famous photo.
An excellent read. Hard bound addition also includes a good Video DVD about IWO.
Best regards,
Gary

Have you seen the new trailer? Here is a link to it! I must warn you that 50% of it is in Japanese with no subtitles in english, but it's still a good watch!

Thanks for the link to the trailer.
Looks to be a great movie with perspective from both sides.
