I have a window with a ledge next to it and just want to know if I can put my models there? They would be in direct sun-light, would this affect the paintwork or anything else on the models at all? Thanks

Depends on how hot it gets in your parts. If that window sill gets really hot, then it may warp your kit.

Another thought is the type of glue used. It may become brittle in the increased exposure.
You will want to consider fading too, the paint and finish will fade faster.

So, it might not be a good long term option. Maybe rotate a few models from one area to the ledge and back every few weeks.

The side facing the sun over time will probably fade. I suspect the pigments used in model paints are not formulated for daylight exposure. You could end up with a ruined paint job.

Exposure to sunlight through windows, has faded my older models (10 to 15 years old), it tends to dull out the paint. I have countered the problem by darkening the room with a light proof window blind. The only light that enters my hobby room now, is when the light switch gets turned on.
