Hello. Does any one know where in the UK I can buy a Tamiya 1.35 Flakpanzer Mobelwagon? A website would be much appreciated! And is this kit good? Thanks

 Mobelwagen
Probably the cheapest you'll find it without ordering abroad. This is Tamiya's second and far better Mobelwagen, based on their new Panzer IV hull. There was a 70s version, but that was on the old, naff, hull and was of the 20mm flakvierling prototype.

The old Tamiya hull with moterisation holes may be naff by todays standards, but if you look past that, or fill them, the old Tamiya kits still build into nice models. I have bought a stack of Pzr IV's recently, from Dragon, Tristar, Academy (yes, the Tamiya knock off lol) and Tamiya. Which Tamiya I hear you ask..
Why, the old (28 years to be precise) Pzr IV Ausf. D The figures may be naff, and the hull full of holes, but it will build into a Pzr IV Ausf D in an afternoon, without hassle or frustration. Bliss.

And that's a key point isn't it Henk? Simple and fun to build! Might not please a rivet-counter or competition judge but beauty is in the eye of the beholder, after all

I've got a CMK Flakpanzer that I will never build. It is based on the old Tamiya kit and includes limited run injection molded 37mm flak and side armor. It also has some PE as well as the base of the old Tamiya kit (hull, tracks, suspension).

The CMK kit are great, I still regret no picking up the Mobelwagen and Ostwind when the LHS had them in a clear out sale. I did buy the StuG III

Only thing I changed was the skirts, which are made of aluminium and putty Zimmerit.
