So, how miserable are you? It is 95 degrees with 60% humidity here. On our way to 95 or 6. Heat index at about 105...

Glad I work in a foundry...

Only 82 in the house here but thats still higher then we want. Don’t know what it is outside (where I have to spend most of my time.)
I don’t have a clue for the humidity but its up there.

I have walls to build but dread getting started on them in this. Also have stuff that I need to burn but don’t think I can stand being around a fire in this heat.
Everything going slow.

Shaun, you are getting the heat that left us a few days ago. We had temps of 112-115. felt hotter than hell anyway.

Weather dot com is listing 94 degrees right now with a heat index of 106. I haven't been outside since 10:00 am when the building had a emergency drill and we stood around for 20 minutes. It was quite unpleasant then. Tomorrow is promises 102 for a real temp.

Today in the heartland the F temperature is over one hundred. Heat index
would be above 106 or 108. We have had these temps for a while. Hope
it cools down soon but glad the Hyatt Regency Crown Center hotel where
the IPMS/USA National convention in Kansas City is being held, is got
the power to keep it good and cool. . . inside.

this kind of heat is very hard on us old folks.

101 here yesterday with humidity of about 1,000,000%. I work partly outside, partly in a building with no AC - did an 11-hour shift yesterday.

105 degrees and 100%, [ 150% ] humidity, one more reason N.J. stinks.
My dog [ Cheyenne ], won't go out the back door because the patio [ concrete ] is too hot for her paws, blacktop must weigh in at an incredible amount because when I look across the street at my neighbors house 6' off the ground is mirage shimmers.
Thank God me and swmbo spent the day in the hot tub, [ jets, no heater ] no pun intended.

Thats ok,

When it was 113 outside my A/C decided to crash. The wait for someone to do the repair is five days. Guy comes out to fix it today and it is about 89. :-)

Like Mark said...you folks are getting what we had last week! It was 112 F here on Saturday 7/22 and we're only 5 mi from the ocean as the crow flys. Never seen it so hot. Can not imagine what it's like in the humid states.
Drink plenty of water and don't try to paint anything with acrylics!
Cheers,

At 8:30 am its 83 deg F and 84% humidity here in Central Vermont.

Lucky me, I get to go work in my classroom this afternoon, on the 3rd floor of a brick building, with many south facing windows, above the newly blacktopped playground border...

The yahoo weather says it's on it's way to 95 today, but with that level of humidity it will feel like..... well it will feel like St Louis in the early summer and that's one of the reasons I left there on purpose!

I realize there are people DYING from heat in other parts of the country and that I picked here to live on purpose, and that it would be a bit hypocritical to then complain about the cold later this winter, but mannnnn it's hot!

The wife just called me here at work and the AC is broken, again. The service guys came out yesterday and said they couldn't find anything wrong with it.

Happy Happy Joy Joy...

Have pity on those poor guys in the foundry.....
Got all the way down to 84 degrees last night at work--- outside--- the boiler room hovered around 110.... :-) :-)
I was soaked with sweat just venturing out of the AC office to get readings.
Off the next few days, they are predicting 100 degrees here, so staying in the AC and building models..... Maybe I'll actually finish something.... :-) :-)

It has been brutally hot in south central Ontario as well. With temps in the high 90's + the humidity making it over 105. I feel soory for my officers working in their bullet proof vests in this heat. The poor troops with their gear, my heart goes out to them and all those who must work in this extreme heat.

We had a storm come through about 5:30 last night and knock out our power for the next four and a half hours. At 10:00 it was cooler (78 rather than 81) but more humid outside than in the house. Fortunately, the power came back on before we went ot bed. We were the lucky ones, several carsin the area had trees fall on them and at least one apartment building lost its roof to the wind. There were big branches down near the office this morning.

It's so hot here, I waited to 5 AM this morning to take the trash out, before the sun came up.....
No intentions of venturing out today, stay in AC and build a model.
They say tonight it's going to start getting cooler here.
As much as I hate this heat, I still hate winter's cold more, that kills my arthritis.

i feel your pain shaun. Go figure, tuesday we had a huge storm that blew down the hydro. some places arn't even fixed and my telephone company was out until today ( yuppie i deal with them for phone, tv, and internet! all three were out!) so instead of relaxing after work i helped my dad cut the hedges.

i work in a welding shop were the guys are constantly torch cutting, grinding, and welding in dump bodies fitted on 10 and 12 wheelers.
so i spent the whole day tuesday and wensday going to the grocery to buythem watter and popcycles to make sure everyones hydrated...

ahh, the fun of wirking in a jumpsuit over your regular jeans and t shirt lol

You turn your A/C off? Mine doesnt go off till October and comes on in March.
I hate the cold worse than the heat, Yes you can always put more clothes on for winter but when you are a mechanicand work outside you have to be able to move
Temps here in Missouri have been in the high 90s with heat indexs of over 100 ugh
