I would like to build some Great War trucks in 1/35 and need advice on creating the dished steel wheels as found on some trucks in the latter war years.
All help appreciated.

At the moment I'm considering a Leyland A type and a Thornycroft J type with AA gun, both of about 1917 vintage

That sounds simple enough apart from smash moulding. I've not heard of that technique. Could you give me a brief rundown.
