Hi Guys,
I'm currently having my our renovated (I just bought and old one) and I was thinking of adding a work bench. My SWMBO gave me a small area (storage area actually) to work . Now what I need is a movable work bench/table. Any ideas or pics that I could start with...I plan to design it myself
Thanks

go to your local hardware store and get 4 or however many screw/bolt on casters you need and attach them to the bottom of each desks legs (you may nee to add a small block of wood for attaching the casters to the bottom of the desks legs)

Hi Luke,
Thanks for the idea. Those casters will definitely be part of the "to buy" list. Now all I need is the design for the body. My idea would be a box like bench that can contain paints, tools and other things that we normally use for our hobby.

Johnathon,
That is really sweet set up! You should see my set up if you can call it that. My work bench is a $20 foldable sqare table I bought at Walmart and a $15 plastic drawer to put my paint and tools

Hi Warthog:
Good luck w/ your project of creating a portable work space for doing
models. I personally do not think that putting casters on the bottom of any
legs that support your "table" is a good idea. Altho it would make the
table/work bench easy to move around, you wouldn't want your table to
suddenly move an inch or so while your doing some delicate work on
a model. That could cause damage to your kit parts, or more importantly,
if you're using a knife at the time, injury to you fingers or hands.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for all the inputs. I've incorporated some of them in my design. Below is what I came up with...the only thing that I have right now is the folding braces :-) . I'll complete it now (add dimensions) so that I could have the carpenter include with the other cabinets they are building for my house renovation...
As usual comments and nitpicks are very much welcome :-) :-)...sounds as if I just finished building a kit :-)
Cheers

I just lost the trusty old kitchen table, SWMBO wanted a dining room suite (no glues or knives under the pain of death, they just dont understand do they) I now have all my gear in a wooden wine box and have to do my building on the lid of same box on my lap
