While out with the clan, shopping for shoes. Yeah, men buy shoes in minutes, SWMBO and the SWMBO apprentices could draw a day's wages for the time they spend in shops..
In any case I noticed an ALDI (never heard of them before) across the road, so I popped in to have a look at their products.
Well they have some cheap kit in there! One of which was this all-metal suction vice (£5.99). They also have the clamp base version, but my hobby desk won’t allow for it. 70mm jaw width, ±155mm high X 150mm base width.
I was previously looking at this plastic one from Maplin for £4.97, Screwfix sell a very similar one (it looks the same to me) for £12.99 (go figure).

Hopefully it is still there.
Aldi tend to do bursts of special products. Once gone it doesn't return. However, you can pick up some terrific bargains there.
Don't be put off by the "warehouse" look. They don't go in much for the "aesthetically pleasing"...

I've kept an eye out for Aldi's Thursday and Sunday 'specials' for some time now. Some great bargains to be had. Even Tradesmen swear by all the tools they sell. Aparently they're of exceptional quality, unlike the screwdrivers you but at local markets! :-)

Nice tip, thanks
I should however mention that my "modelling vice" is far from cheap...

Dont forget to check the home pages of Lidl and Netto as well (BTW apperently your towns full of pikey's if it's got all 3) just as well I dont like in leyland then :-)
