Hi all i am planning on scratching a Huey Rotor blade for a dio i am thinking of and my question is, the plasticard i have found at a good price is only 1mm and i need 3mm so would it be possible to glue three pieces together and still manage to achieve a decent finish or should i shop around for a 3mm sheet? does that make sense

any help would be great

Yes you can glue them together to get the desired thickness. I have done this in the past. Make sure to clamp the pieces together tightly to remove any air or excess glue that might be trapped between the pieces..

Old trick for glueing
On a flat surface--cut sheet roughly to sizes required ----apply glue to one piece(both parts if liquid glue)-----ensure edges are well coated and centre of strip./ piece........second (third / forth)..piece laid on one end and slid along first ------move back and forward a few times till it feels tight .......then line up edges and leave to dry .........helps to overcome the join line (most times)..as plastic is moved to edges when being "slipped" Use a circular motion with smaller pieces .

Basically, what Barv is saying is: Glue some bits of plastic of the same general length and breadth together and sand them down to the shape you want.

It's really not hard to do.
