That's a neat idea Luke but those things are about thirty cents each at Radio Shack.
Personally I think it would be easier to buy them than spend an hour ripping apart an extremely caustic battery.

you mean the ones with THIN GAUGE WIRE? Making these you can use heavier gauge wire. And as long as you don't remove the cells the will be no chemicals. All your doing is removing the top and bottom plates from a dead 9volt.
