Hi,
I''m working on a couple of Porsche 917s that require some side windows and headlight covers to be tinted yellow.
Outside of spraying the with Tamiya clear, can I tint some Future with food colouring?, I mean they are both water based....right?
Should I just spray them from the inside?
Your advice sought..
Regards

Why not tint the Future with the Tamiya clear? Their both acrylic, right? Then, I would dip the clear parts myself, but I guess spraying would also work. Might be easier dipping though, I think.

You can use the Tamiya clear paints right out of the bottle, either dipping or painting, painting will usually require multiple coats to get an even finish. You can also use food coloring mixed with either Future or Tamiya Clear, to create your own custom colors.

Definitely spray from the inside.

You could try some RITT dye from the local craft store to tint future. I used it in a water application once.

I use food coloring for tinting. As you may know it comes in 4 plastic tubes
with a plastic screw conical top. There are the primary colors, Blue, Red,
and Yellow, and Green. (Of course, you can mix the Blue and Yellow and
make a green, as well. Perhaps green Cakes are real popular around
St. Patties day? Works fer me. Duh? whar was I? )

You can make a purple tint for a clear wine bottle by mixing the Blue
food coloring with Red and you can make a brown for a beer bottle. . .
hummmmmm that sounds good. This Bud's fer Me? Or for a wine
bottle. Of course, if you mix the yellow and red and blue together,
you will get a brown. . . might want to add a smidge of green in the
brown for a slightly different tint to the brown.
