I get to spend a couple of weeks in Houston. Are there any good hobby shops on the Northwest side?

Thanks,
Paul

If you can get to them, Hobby Island is the best. I drive 2 1/2 hours to get what I need.

yes!

well, not exactly the NORTHwest side, but the westside has the best hobby shop in town. It is called Hobby Island, and is located on Richmond Blvd, just east of Voss rd I beleive (could be wrong about that cross street, as I have not lived in houston for about 4 years - but I know Hobby Island is still there). Ah yes, the handy web search reveals:

Hobby Island
9430 Richmond Ave # E
Houston, TX 77063
(713) 781-4790

Ooop - subhunter got the drop on me!

there are a couple other decent model shops in h-town, but that is the best, and by far the most desearving of your $$$ in my opinion.

BTW, i just went by there today - is is way west of Voss st., unlike what i said before. it is actually just east (by 1.5 stop lights) of Gessner.

don't try to get there by going west on richmond blvd. BTW - lots of construction and long delays even in the middle of the day

Hobby Island is the best place to shop in Houston. I went there once and I put the owner's kid to college.
