hey

this is a follow up of the other post about the fences and gates, now i have painted them using humbrol paints and woodlandsencics fine turf for moss,i have changed the nails to flat head ones, the nails a made from railroad track pins then they sanded on the tops for the silver effect (they came painted black) then where cut to size with wire cutters and pushed into place.

.

Awesome work mate. Well done. I always take my hat off to you scratchbuilding kids..... what is the gate going to be used for?

My only comment would be that the nailheads are probably not all that proportionate to the rest of the gate; ie. they're too big. Maybe you can create some smaller nailheads with end of a pin?

Looking good.
I'd suggest a wash of red-brown over the nail heads - they are very shiny.
Also once they have a wash they will not appear so stark - which will help with the size issue.
Cheers,
Andrew
